About
My name is Li Linyi
Li Linyi – Pianist and Musician
Li Linyi is a passionate and dedicated pianist whose musical journey began at the age of six. Initially introduced to music through choir and orchestral experiences, he quickly developed a fascination with the piano, which became his primary instrument alongside the trumpet. His early exposure to diverse musical genres, from classical to jazz and rock, shaped his appreciation for performance and ensemble playing.
Linyi's commitment to music deepened during his secondary school years, where he actively participated in concerts, talent shows, and various ensembles. His pursuit of excellence led him to the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA), where he honed his technical skills and gained a profound understanding of musical interpretation. Through courses in musicianship and historical musicology, he refined his approach to phrasing, harmony, and performance practice.
A versatile performer, Linyi has taken part in numerous solo and ensemble performances, developing a keen ability to communicate musical ideas effectively to audiences. He is particularly drawn to the emotional depth and technical challenges of the classical repertoire, with works such as Schumann’s Kreisleriana, Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 3, and Piano Sonata Op. 31 No. 3 leaving a lasting impact on his artistic vision.
Currently, Linyi is preparing for his diploma final recital, focusing on refining his interpretive abilities and expanding his repertoire. This recital marks his last performance at NAFA before he embarks on the next chapter of his musical journey. In September, he will begin his studies at the Royal Northern College of Music (RNCM), where he looks forward to further developing his artistry and seizing new performance opportunities.
Aspiring to further his career in performance, Linyi is dedicated to continuous artistic growth. With a strong belief in the power of musical storytelling, he strives to inspire audiences with his interpretations and technical brilliance.
